MANILA -- If you want to have good pizza in Manila, you'll never go wrong with these three homegrown establishments, which are once again hailed as among the best in the region by an Italian online guide.

Crosta Pizzeria, a mano, and Wildflour Italian are back on Top 50 Pizza's Asia-Pacific list, with the first two at higher positions and winning special awards.

From ranking 10th in 2023 and 32nd in 2022, Crosta Pizzeria placed second this year, with Japanese-Filipino chef Yuichi Abellare Ito winning the Pizza Maker of the Year 2024 Ferrarelle Award for his "excellent choices" when it comes to toppings. 

At No. 1 in Top 50 Pizza's list this year is Tokyo's The Pizza Bar on 38th, where Ito used to work. 

On the other hand, a mano improved to 12th place this year from 15th in 2023 and 48th in 2022. Led by Amado Fores, son of Asia's Best Female Chef 2016 Margarita Fores, the Italian restaurant also received the Best Pasta Proposal 2024 Pastificio Di Martino Award for serving pizza "that closely resembles the Neapolitan style," as well as "very well-made" pasta. 

Meanwhile, Wildflour Italian is still part of this year's list at 47th place, from 35th in 2023 and 38th in 2022. The restaurant under the Wildflour group was commended for its "deep and soft" pizza crust that showcases both Neapolitan-style toppings and gourmet fusion combinations.
